The Point is one of those legendary places known for decades of spoiling and pampering in-the-know jet setters seeking to go off the grid. The Point boasts a Forbes Five-Star setting and service, Relais & Chateaux cuisine, charm, and character, and the rustic, laid-back vibe of an Adirondacks Great Camp. The 11 cozy lake-side cabins, juxtaposed with the twice weekly black-tie communal dinner parties, set the stage for a magical experience.
The Adirondack Great Camps are grand and fanciful log mansions, built by Gilded Age magnates — think Vanderbilts and Astors, Guggenheims and Rockefellers — who yearned for wooded retreats of great but rustic comfort along the rugged lakeshores of upstate New York.

The Point is a genuine welcoming place to unplug, relax and be uninterrupted. Nature is the back drop and sets the tone for the seasonal activities. The limited wi-fi (unless you really need it) makes the clear statement that life can once again be beautiful, fun, chill and cherished.
Beyond Five-Star Service
Each team member at the Point easily memorizes guests preferences and dislikes, and goes above and beyond to surprise and delight each step of the way. Jake welcomes us with a lovely glass of champagne and showed us all of the wonderful hide-a-ways throughout the property we might enjoy during our stay. Noticing we loved the stawberrries, Vlad made sure the chef prepared strawberry muffins to be delivered with our morning coffee. Johnnie beat us to Camp David during our hike in the woods to light the fires, warming this woodsy outpost before we were due to arrive for our glorious lunch.

Encouraged to Feel Right at Home
Common areas, terraces, warming cabins, outdoor seating, fireplace lounges, The Pub, boats, lookout points and numerous complimentary bars along with a staff on 24-hour call are what make The Point experience so hospitable, gracious and totally unique.

All-Inclusive Cuisine, Wines & Spirits
Every lunch is an affair – served anywhere on the property, on the boat, lakeside, on a deck, in the great room.
Every dinner is exquisite, with each course paired expertly with top wines. Everything is carefully sourced and prepared, always keeping in mind guests preferences. Each bit savored!

Accommodations

Sentinel was our room which was perfect for a cold weather stay with a roaring fire in the living room and in the bedroom and a big stone shower! https://thepointresort.com/home/guest-rooms/sentinel/

The Boathouse is my favorite accommodation – incredible deck, terrace, decor and of course, its very own bar!!
Activities
While the food and beverage are reason enough to visit The Point, the activities are very much part of the festivities. While I visited late Fall and loved my hiking and boating, each season holds its own appeal!
Boating on Saranac is a must and the Point has a fleet of pristinely kept vintage boats for you to head out on with your captain and or to putt-putt about on your own. Fast or slow, winter or summer, always a joy! Everything is included of course!
Autumn/Winter

It’s hard to imagine a more beautiful place in autumn than the Adirondacks. The incredible fall foliage colors reflecting on the shimmering lake is breathtaking. Hiking, boating and cozy bon fires all over the property are so enticing. An invigorating walk through the woods along the shoreline followed by a warm-up stop in Camp David by a fireside with refreshments and snacks is truly memorable. Enjoy hot toddies by a roaring fire or champagne from the fully stocked ice-bar on the lake while gathered around a crackling bon fire.
A winter wonderland quilted in snow turns the wooded forest and historic buildings into a magical quiet of natural beauty. Cross-country skis and snowshoes help guests take a path into a world of white, while on the frozen lake, ice skating, curling and ice fishing are iconic pleasures.
Once inside, winter remains outdoors while the welcoming, blazing fires, classic movies, mulled or red wines, darts, cards, or pool are thoroughly enjoyed. Winter days may be short, but the longer nights allow ample time for great food, wine, music, laughter and camaraderie.
Spring/Summer

When the snow has disappeared, the Adirondacks are a landscape of shimmering lakes and cascading streams, vast timberlands and soaring mountains. The air is sweet and views breathtakingly expansive.
Days at The Point unfold with boating, fishing, tennis, waterskiing, croquet, badminton, swimming, wakesurfing, kayaking, paddle boarding and hiking. A Hackercraft tour of the lake to discover other Great Camps along with their stories and history is another popular excursion. We can even arrange complimentary fishing licenses and a round of golf at the Saranac Inn golf course or rock climbing in the majestic High Peaks. New this summer, our guests can also enjoy a scenic seaplane tour offering spectacular aerial views of the Adirondacks.
Hike to Camp David
Hiking is beautiful around the Point with several color coded trails to follow, ours lead us to Camp David, a wonderful forest retreat with a wood burning stove and a roaring fire. A bottle of chilled burgundy was on ice, a crisp and tangy caesar salad and a savory seafood bouillabaisse was delivered for our lunch! That is what I call roughing it!
Getting to the Point

Getting there on Cape Air from Boston is a breeze with several flights daily into tiny Adirondack regional airport, just 10 minutes from The Point. Private aircraft can also arrive here. Otherwise Major carriers: JetBlue, Delta, American, United and Porter (Montreal only) into Burlington, VT, Albany, NY or Montreal, Canada. Then, you can rent a car at these airports for a lovely 2¼-3 hours drive to The Point.
