Just a 30-minute speed boat ride from Athens, One&Only Kea Island is an easy long weekend get-a-way or a perfect add-on to a Cycladian island-hopping adventure. If you are familiar with the One&Only brand, you will already know they are high on service and offer an incredible array of complimentary amenities and inclusions. My stay at One&Only Kea Island, however, was headlined by some of the most incredible service I have experienced anywhere. It is astounding that this property has only been open a few months, yet, is operating at a solid Five Star level, as good as I have seen!
Arrive in style on a 15-minute helicopter or a 30-minute speed boat ride from Athens Lavrio Port in a state of the art speed boat that tackles the Aegean with seamless ease. As we bade farewell to the Greek mainland, our fun-loving captain made it clear that we were in for an extraordinary adventure.
We approached Kea’s rugged coastline and could start to make out the stunning pool villas and residences of One&Only.
The resort has a lovely welcome lounge at their marina where the staff welcomes guests and whisks them up to the main resort building for check in and a welcome drink.
We were enthusiastically welcomed by the O&O team who immediately made us feel like expected house guests.

The resort’s villa and residential product is so comfortable, intuitive and carefully considered. This is a place where guests can genuinely and comfortably unpack and settle in for a while!
The expansive windows offered stunning views of the Aegean Sea from every angle, and the private infinity pool seemed to blend into the horizon.
The villa itself was a perfect mix of modern elegance, natural beauty and thoughtful decor where both form and function are paramount.
Designed to maximize privacy and uninterrupted sea views, villas feature a pool, terrace, courtyard and fireplace. Whoever said that the “room really does not matter, as we don’t plan to be in it much” has not stayed at O&O Kea Island.
Elevated Greek Cuisine
Every single sip and bite during our stay was exemplary. I can be a bit demanding about food. O&O surprised and delighted our palates with local flavors from the land and sea, much of it sourced from the island’s finest artisans and producers. A variety of dining options during our stay included the relaxed restaurant Atria, the vibrant Bond Beach Club, tempting Èpicora, atmospheric Kosmos lobby lounge, and Kaiki pool bar. We tried them all during our short stay with the exception of the Incognito speakeasy. I guess we couldn’t find it! 🙂

Our favorite however was Bond Beach Club – great vibe, upbeat music, swaying olive trees, toes in sand, and an enthusiastic team serving delicious crisp Greek wines and mouth-water creative Greek seafood with an Asian flair.
The pristine private beach offers cocktails and lunch service, kayaks and boogie boards. Across the way is a full array of speed and sail boats, available for day charters to explore the area.

One&Only Spa is inspired by the ancient Greek concept of sophrosyne, meaning a balanced mind and body. The gorgeous facility offers multiple pools and wet areas, spin and yoga studios, a complete fitness center with personal trainers, and dozens of wellness and beauty treatments to bring out your inner-Aphrodite!

While the resort is chic and sleek, making it a lovely adults hide-a-way, families will also love the resort and there are multiple suites and private residences that will suit. The KIDS ONLY entertains little ones while active and young at heart can play tennis, paddle or basketball at CLUB ONE.
I am a sucker for a GREAT mini bar and I particularly loved the carefully crafted offerings of snacks, coffee, refreshing beverages, wines and cocktails, much of it local, adding to the sense of place.
The only question is, where to next? The obvious answer was to One&Only Aesthesis, on the Athenian Riviera. This other new One&Only property is a perfect combination with O&O Kea Island and the ideal base to explore the delights of Athens from a coastal resort, located just 30-minutes from the city center.
