Rome – The Eternal City

No matter how many times you go to Rome, nothing ever quite prepares you for the history!

Ok, never mind that as my taxi driver drove by the Collesseum and his response to my, “Bellisima” was “I have been driving by the Collesseum for 45 fricking years” (picture thumb, index and middle finger joined together and being lobbed through the air).  I know the Romans might get use to this stuff just like the Athenians but it is truly remarkable to fathom the civilizations who ran the world from this city!

Just 24 hours in the eternal city but thanks to our incredible guide, we were able to accomplish so much! Collesseum, St. Peters Square, the Key Hole, an overview of Imperial Rome, and an incredible lunch.  We have the best guides in Rome that insure VIP access to the most important sights and explanation of history in a way that is meaningful and tailored to our client’s interest level.  I cant imagine tackling Rome without the expertise, no matter how many times you have visited the city – there is always something more to discover.

During the evening we took advantage of meeting up with hoteliers at two of our client’s favorite hotels in order to see first hand the rooms and suites we often book.  Of course, there is nothing quite like seeing, tasting and experiencing these properties first hand and it is always a pleasure to see old friends!

We had the pleasure of staying at the Relais and Chateaux Palazzo Manfredi with our room overlooking the Collosseum.

In the afternoon we visited the gorgeous Hotel Eden and enjoyed a roof top cocktail with one of the best views of Rome!

In the evening, we went to the very elegant oasis at Hotel De Russie overlooking Piazza del Popolo for a site inspection and a lovely dinner in the stunning courtyard.
