There’s a saying “You can’t make old friends”, and each year I take the time to celebrate just that with my girls group from my days as a hotelier. We’ve been through thick and thin together, and our friendships are as tight as ever. This year we went back to Mexico – an all-time favorite and if you know me well…one of my spiritual homes.

Surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, the resort’s architecture harmoniously blends with its natural environment, featuring thatched roofs, wooden beams, and stone pathways that wind through beautifully manicured gardens.

The Suite

Opening the door to our room felt like stepping into a private oasis. Filled with natural light, floor-to-ceiling windows framed stunning ocean views. The decor was a harmonious mix of contemporary elegance and rustic charm, with handcrafted furniture and vibrant textiles.

The king-sized bed, adorned with plush pillows and soft linens, promised restful nights, while the spacious terrace invited us to unwind and soak in the breathtaking scenery. One of my favorite moments was waking up to the sunrise, the sky painted in hues of pink and orange, and the sound of waves gently lulling us into a state of tranquility.

The Resort

The resort offered a plethora of activities that catered to those looking for relaxation. The swimming pools were a highlight, providing a perfect place to cool off and unwind. With infinity edges that seemed to blend seamlessly into the ocean beyond, each pool offered a unique vantage point to enjoy the stunning surroundings. Some pools were designed for quiet relaxation, while others were perfect for a refreshing swim, catering to all our moods.

ONDA, an Auberge Spa

Inspired by the rhythmic energy of waves, ONDA Spa is a sanctuary for the soul. I indulged in a deep tissue massage that left me feeling rejuvenated and ready to rock the beach with my girls. I loved that they use natural, healing botanicals like mango butter and warm oil – adding an extra level of luxury to the experience.

A Perfect Girls Weekend

Susurros del Corazón was the ultimate destination for our much needed girls’ weekend getaway. We spent our days sipping margs and lounging on the beach laughing and remembering. What’s not to love?
