Mandarin Oriental Bangkok

I met an old friend today, Robert O’Kennedy, Director of Marketing, at the legendary Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok.

FYI – Clients of Resort to Laura Madrid also receive the following when staying at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok: Upgrade upon arrival, subject to availability, Daily buffet breakfast for two in-room guests, served in the restaurant, One complimentary Thai buffet lunch, for up to two persons at Sala Rim Naam, once during stay (excluding beverages).

I now know why “the Oriental” after 135 years of spoiling guests is still the place to stay in Bangkok.  Every room overlooks the bustling Chao Phraya River and truly feel like your are staying in the home of Thai nobility – rich silk fabrics, sumptuous furnishings, original art and books accompany luxurious 5 star hotel amenities such as huge closets, sunken bathtubs, and views worth a million words.  The hustle and bustle inside the hotel makes guest feel as if they are in a mini and sophisticated Bangkok without ever leaving the front doors. Once can of course, take the hotel boat across the river to the hotel spa or onward to the Grand Palace and the Old City in minutes.   What a location, what a legend!
